Also I told you I would be searching for freebies right? Well I'll share them as I go so those of you who are also on a budget can get these great deals right along with me! So heres our first freebie! Now its nothing to jump up and down about, but how about a little help with the planning? How about an online wedding planner? I printed this off, saving me at least $20-$30 that they usually cost in stores. Even if you already have one, you may choose to print off certain pages and not even the whole book because it seriously is a useful planner, and has helpful workseets inside. Get yours free here!

DIY garter!
So well start simple.. our first DIY.. the garter! Now most places you can find an inexpensive garter, like craft stores such as micheals, jo anns, and hobby lobby, but most of them are plain.. white .. and boring! So here are tips for the extreme DIY or even some for the less extreme simple DIYers.
If you are not as extreme in the DIY department you can stick with these simple tips to make your garter more unique and special to you, and to match your theme.
Start with a plain, white or tan garter you find at your local craft store (most craft stores run a 40% off deal in the sunday paper or you can find those coupon online) I've even seen some garters in the bride section at the dollar tree for only a dollar , yeah they arent that cute but thats where you come in! take this and then you can develop it into your own! take your own ribbon, and lace with you own custom colors and simply sew them or hot glue them onto the pre-made garter. You can also add things like fabric flowers, or charms in place of where the bow usually goes! and for much cheaper you have a custom garter!
Now if you are into sewing and extreme DIY heres a tutorial for you! Simply buy the fabric/ lace and ribbon in your colors , charms , bows and whatever else you would like to incorportate and here you go!
what you need:
•Fabric strip - 3 inches wide by one and a half times leg measurement
•Lace - any lace is fine, this is used as trim, same length as fabric strip
•Elastic - 1/2" wide
•Charms, etc - You can add personalized charms, beads or other trims as you wish. These can be sewed on or glued on with a glue gun.
Instructions for How to Make a Wedding Garter:
Be sure to measure your thigh where the garter will go. Use this measurement plus 1/2 to get the correct length of fabric and lace trim.
•Fold fabric strip in half lenthwise with the wrong side out. Sew this edge then turn inside out so the correct fabric side is facing out and the sewed edge is in the center of the fabric tube.
•Iron the tube so the seam is in the back center (which will be hidden against your leg) and then sew the lace onto the bottom edge.
•Slide the elastic into the tube. If this is difficult you can put a safety pin on the end of the elastic to help glide it through. Wrap your bridal garter around your leg and trim the elastic to where it is a comfortable fit. Sew the elastic edges together and finishing by hand-sewing the ribbon and fabric ends together.
•Lastly, you can sew on additional charms, beads, bows, rosettes or whatever embellishments you like!
